The Bianconeri Snatch Dramatic Tie Following Eight-Goal Second Half Clash Against Borussia Dortmund

Englishman L. Kelly scored an equaliser deep into stoppage time of injury time to rescue a draw for Juventus following a thrilling goal-laden second half at home to Dortmund.

Kelly’s Redemption After Spot-Kick Mistake

Defender Kelly – signed from the Magpies this offseason – had given away a penalty to allow Dortmund to make it 4-2, before he responded Vlahovic's 94th-minute leveler with a headed goal a cross from Vlahovic later.

Quiet Opening Leads to Scoring Frenzy

Neither side created little of note during the first 45 minutes while they neutralized one another in midfield.

Initial 45 minutes failed to excite many spectators, but those who stuck around witnessed an explosion of real excitement in the second half – as Juventus fought back three times, with eight goals coming from the 51st minute onward.

It is just the second-ever UCL match in which eight goals were netted in one half, after the second half in Bayern's 9-2 win over Zagreb last season.

Back-and-Forth Action

Karim Adeyemi put Dortmund ahead the first goal when he expertly shifted possession just outside the area and guided it past the keeper.

The German side improved considerably with their finishing, however, little over 10 minutes later, a piece of Juventus magic by Yildiz ended with the Turkey international curling a stunning strike into the far top corner from distance.

Under 120 seconds passed and Dortmund were again in front, as Nmecha producing another exquisite finish when he curled a first-time effort into the top corner.

Yet the drama continued with more turns to come, and Vlahovic coolly finishing in a breakaway under later to level again.

Late Drama

Having lost the lead on two occasions, Dortmund retook the lead again as Couto, sprinting into the penalty area, drilled a powerful shot inside the post, just beyond the dive of Michele di Gregorio.

Ramy Bensebaini doubled Dortmund's lead via a penalty after former England Under-21 international Kelly touched it in his box.

However Vlahovic blasted a late effort in off the woodwork before setting up former club back Lloyd Kelly to seal an injury-time equalizer.
