Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then located many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.
City officials announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A high-ranking official stated the vandalism rendered him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
