Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A helicopter flying over a crowded coastal beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Footage shared on social media depict the chopper beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling towards the border of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders said five individuals were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on that day.
Three people on the street were hurt. Information on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Officials mentioned the aircraft was linked to an annual “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the next day.
